Innovative Classical Guitar

"The show was fantastic tonight! Thanks Phil Weaver and Dave Anderson, sold out show!" Susan Davis, Tangled String Studios

"Great job last night, thank you so much, it was absolutely fantastic!" Leslie Ecklund, director of Burritt Museum

This project combines classical guitar solos with rock improvisation for a fresh and relevant concert experience that is multi-textured and high energy. Major performers in classical guitar and rock have recorded in this vein, but this is your chance to experience it live. May 23rd, 2014, Phil and Dave had their first ever rehearsal scheduled. The afternoon before Phil was asked to step in and perform a concert on the 23rd for a major venue, Burritt Museum's City Lights Series when the scheduled artist cancelled due to illness. He suggested the duo with Dave (not mentioning they had not played together AT ALL at that point) and the game was on. In two and a half hours they put together a full show (with a break for an interview with al.com's Matt Wake) and performed that evening to a large and enthusiastic audience.

Their second show, a concert at Tangled String Studios on Thursday, July 31st, sold out and then some-the venue had to borrow chairs to accommodate the overflow and the performers were given a standing ovation at the end. The show also includes some of Dave Anderson's original songs performed on steel string acoustic and looping station and classical guitar solos from Phil. Dave Anderson is a member of the Atlanta Rhythm Section, Brother Cane, and also performs with the Black Jacket Symphony. Phil Weaver has performed extensively as a soloist and collaboratively with piano, flute, violin, symphony orchestra , even a fire eater/sword swallower.
