Innovative Classical Guitar

Solo

As a soloist Phil Weaver draws on his extensive touring and a varied repertoire developed throughout his career (yet still expanding) to create a musical experience for the listener that is moving, enchanting, and at a very high artistic level. The music includes tangos by Piazzolla, dances by the Brazilian composers Villa-Lobos and Cardoso, the flamenco inspired works of Albeniz and Turina, elegant masterpieces from J.S. Bach and Scarlatti, as well as contemporary pieces such as Peter Maxwell-Davies Celtic lament Farewell to Stromness and the Russian composer Piotr Panin's rock-influenced Tanz der Eskimos.

Phil Weaver's focus is to make his music relevant and approachable no matter what the venue or situation, whether a live radio show, large outdoor festival, recital hall, or house concert. The goal is communication with the audience-expect virtuosic performing and be prepared to have some fun. Phil is known for his sense of humor on and off the stage.
